2011 - Bollywood film "Mere Brother Ki Dulhan" directed by Ali Abbas Zafar starring Imran Khan, Katrina Kaif, Ali Zafar and Tara DíSouza was released.

Famous Births

1850 - Bharatendu Harishchandra was born in Varanasi. He is known as the father of modern Hindi literature as well as Hindi theatre. He is considered one of the greatest Hindi writers of modern India.

1905 - Brahmarishi Hussain Sha was born Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh. He was the seventh head of Sri Viswa Viznana Vidya Adhyatmika Peetham in Pithapuram. He succeeded his father, Kavisekhara Dr Umar Alisha Sathguru. He was a scholar in Telugu, Arabic, Urdu, Persian and Sanskrit.

1909 - Leela Chitnis was born in Dharwar, Karnataka. She was an early actress in the Indian film industry. She was the first Indian film star to endorse the popular Lux soap brand, until then only top Hollywood heroines did that.
