1865 - Panuganti Lakshmi Narasimha Rao was born at SeethaNagaram, East Godavari, Andhra Pradesh. He is one of the famous modern Telugu writers. He was one of the three famous writers of those days - Chilakamarthy Lakshmi Narasimham, Koochi Narasimham and Panuganti Lakshmi Narasimham - popularly known as Simha Trayam.

1865 - Paul Olaf Bodding was born. He was a Norwegian missionary, linguist and folklorist. He served in India for 44 years and operated mainly from the town Dumka in the Santhal Parganas-district. Bodding created the first alphabet and wrote the first grammar for the Santali-speaking native people in eastern India. In 1914 he also completed the translation of the Bible into the Santali language.
