1848 - George Robert Aberigh-Mackay was born. He was an Anglo-Indian writer. He is best known for his book Twenty-one Days in India (1878-1879), a satire upon Anglo-Indian society and modes of thought.

1911 - Akhandananda Saraswati (Maharajshri Akhandananda Saraswati) was born in the village of Maharai in the district of Varanasi. He was an exponent of Bhagavata Purana and a scholar of diverse spiritual traditions including Vedanta, Bhakti, and associated Shastras.
