1932 - Dhirubhai Ambani (Dhirajlal Hirachand Ambani) was born at Chorwad, Gujarat, British India. He founded Reliance Industries and it was public in 1977, and by 2007 the combined fortune of the family was $60 billion, making the Ambani's the second richest family in the world.
1937 - Ratan Tata (Ratan Naval Tata) was born in Bombay, Bombay Presidency, British India. He was the chairman of the Tata Group (1991 to 2012). He received Padma Bhushan in 2000 and Padma Vibhushan in 2008 by Government of India and Lifetime Achievement Award by Rockefeller Foundation in 2012.
1940 - A. K. Antony (Arackaparambil Kurien Antony) was born in Cherthala, Travancore, British India. He is the current Defence Minister of India (as of December 2012). He is the Member of Parliament from Rajya Sabha. He is the former Chief Minister of Kerala.
1952 - Arun Jaitley was born in New Delhi. He is a prominent leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He is the Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha (as of December 2012) and in the past had held the portfolios as the Union cabinet Minister for commerce, industry, law and justice.
1981 - David Abraham Cheulkar (popularly known as David) died at the age of 73 in Toronto, Canada. He was a Hindi film actor. He acted in more than 110 films. He received Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1955 for his role in the film Boot Polish.
