1903 - Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay was born in Mangalore, Karnataka. She was a social reformer and freedom fighter. Several cultural institutions in India today are established due to her efforts, like the National School of Drama, Sangeet Natak Akademi, Central Cottage Industries Emporium, and the Crafts Council of India. She received Ramon Magsaysay Award, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Vibhushan.
1914 - Field Marshal Sam Hormusji Framji Jamshedji Manekshaw (Sam Bahadur) was born. He was the Field Marshal of the Indian Army. He was awaraded Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Military Cross.
1325 - Nizamuddin Auliya (Hazrat Nizamuddin) passed away in Delhi. He was the most famous Sufi saint of the Chishti Order.
