Krishna Nehru Hutheesing (born as Krishna Nehru) was born. She was the youngest sister of Jawaharlal Nehru. She was a writer. She married to Gunottam (Raja) Hutheesing who belonged to prominent Ahmedabad family that built the Hutheesing Jain Temple.

April 1 - Dr. Sree Sree Sree Shivakumara Swamiji was born in Veerapura near Magadi Taluk. He is the present head of Sree Siddaganga Mutt in Tumkur District and founder of the Sree Siddaganga Education Society. The Government of Karnataka awarded him Karnataka Ratna award, the highest civilian award of the state.

May 15 - Sukhdev Thapar was born in Ludhiana, Punjab. He was a freedom fighter who was a member of the Hindustan Socialist Republican Association. He was accompanying with Bhagat Singh and Shivaram Rajguru who were involved in the assassination of Deputy Superintendent of Police J.P. Saunders.

August 19 - Acharya Hazari Prasad Dwivedi was born in Dube Chhapra Village, Ballia District, Uttar Pradesh. He was a Hindi novelist, literary historian, essayist, critic and scholar. He received Sahitya Akademi Award and Padma Bhushan.

September 28 - Bhagat Singh was born in Jaranwala Tehsil, Punjab, British India. He was one of the most famous revolutionaries of the Indian independence movement. He is an idol for youngsters as well as the inspiration for several films.

November 27 - Harivansh Rai Bachchan (Harivansh Rai Shrivastav) was born in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. He was a famous poet of Chhayavaad literary movement of early 20th century Hindi literature. He is the father of Bollywood super star Amitabh Bachchan.
