March - Jagadguru Swami Sri Bharati Krishna Tirthaji Maharaja was born. He was the Sankaracharya of the Govardhana matha of Puri during 1925-1960. He is famous for his book Vedic Mathematics.
October 4 - Subramaniya Siva was born in vathalagundu in Dindigul district of the then Madras province. He was a freedom fighter and prolific writer. He was arrested many times between 1908 and 1922 for his anti-imperialist activities.
November 7 - Dr. Pandurang Sadashiv Khankhoje was born. He was a freedom fighter, scholar, agricultural scientist and historian. He was one of the founding members of the Ghadar Party.
November 22 - Sulaiman Nadvi was born. He was a prominent Indian and Pakistani historian, biographer, litterateur and scholar of Islam. He co-authored Sirat-un-Nabi and wrote Khutbat-e-Madras.
December 3 - Rajendra Prasad was born. He was the first President of India. He also served as the president of the Constituent Assembly. He is the only president to have been elected twice for the office.
December 12 - C. P. Brown died. He was a Telugu writer and an Englishman by descent. He worked as an official in Cuddapah and Rajahmundry. Native Telugu people call him Brown Dora.
