Coimbatore is the nearest town from this village. One can take two buses to reach the village - one from Erode to Gobi and from Gobi to Vettayampalayam. Buses are available from small towns nearby viz. Sathyamangalam, Nambiyur, and P. Puliampatti.
Powerful diety Mari gives her blessings from centre of the village in a small temple. A festival is celebrated during the month of May when people from all other villages gather and cherish.
Main occupation of the people in this village is agriculture. Majority of population is Hindus with a few Christians. There is K.G. Metric School, K.G. High School and few other primary and middle schools
The village is sorrounded by beatiful lake and canals. Greenish paddy fields are situated all along the roads. This is a peaceful and calm village
