Hyderabad is the nearest city from this village. To reach this village, from Hyderabad one needs to get on to national highway 9 till he reaches Choutuppal, from there one have to travel towards Narayanpur about 11 km. There is a bio diesel plant in this village, which is first in Asia. It is famous for handloom sarees.
This village has been under Moghuls and Isac Jahis and Reachels of Rachakonda. It still has fort walls and few gates remaining and two stations used for soldiers on the hill, a resting place for the king and others on another hill and this village is the gateway to the beautiful Rachakonda region, which is mostly occupied by naxals now.
There is a high school, govt health center, mandal center, police station, and telecoomunications station in the village. The places to visit in this village include a Rama temple, burjus on two hills, and Rachakonda hills.
