Kukatpally is a village (actually city) in the outskirts of Hyderabad. It is now actually the part of Hyderabad and if Greater Hyderabad comes, it will be the part of Hyderabad officially. It is now a municipality.
Kukatpally is a big village and there are many colonies in it. Some of them include Kukatpally Housing Board Colony (KPHB), Vivekanandanagar Colony, Vasant Nagar, Prashant Nagar, Bhagyanagar Colony, Balaji Nagar and many others.
KPHB colony is the asias biggest colony. There are five theatres in kukatpally namely Vishwanath, Shiva Parvathi, Arjun, Mallikarjuna and Brahmaramba. There are many big shopping centers in kukatpally like Kalamandir, Kalaniketan, RS Brothers, Bommanabrothers. There are also Bajaj, TVS and Hero Honda showrooms. There are many big hotels too. Even multiplexes are coming soon in kukatpally. Because of close proximity to Hitec City, Kukatpally has recently developed very much and land prices are skyrocketing.
