Nearest city from this village is Karimnagar. Buses are available from Hyderabad, Karimnagar, and Huzarabad to this village. There is a naturally built bridge like structure to stop floods. According to the legend, Goddess Yellamma once appeared to a devotee and asked him to carry the basket of sand by making a hole in it. He did so and behind him as the sand fell from the basket a bridge like structure started to build. After sometime he looked back to see the goddess and the bridge stopped there. Now when the area the affected by floods, water flow from the gap where there is no bridge and village drown in water.
There is a Yellamma Temple in this village, which is very famous. Yearly once Jatara will be held and thousands of people visit the temple from the surrounding villages. Every friday mela is held and many people from surrounding places visit to this place. Cattle are also sold in this mela. Agriculture is the main occupation. There are two theaters, one of them is Sri Venkateshwara. There is a ZPHS school. There are a few small clinics.
