Banka is a district in the state of Bihar . Banka was formed as a separate district in 2000 from parent district Bhagalpur. The city of Banka is the headquarters of the district as well as the only subdivision. The district occupies an area of 3018 kmē and has a population of 1,608,778 (2001 census). Banka district is a part of Bhagalpur Division.
