Great Narayan Sharma Ramadurgam was the karanam of this village. The shiva temple
and Mariamma temple in this village are built by the ancestors of Narayana Ramadurgam. He had four brothers, ChandraSekhara, Umameshawara and Sanappa. His lienage includes Narasarusu, the elder brother of Timmarusu, the legendary prime minister of Krishna Deva Raya of Vijayanagar Dynasty.
