This is a village in Khammam district. People believe the name BANAPURAM is linked to the great saga of Mahabharatha. BANAPURAM (BANA + PURAM) where pandavas kept their weapons (BANAs) while in agnatha vasam, hence the name BANAPURAM. The modern village is rich with well educated people in all areas like Engineering, Medicine, Law ,Education etc. One of most dominant castes is the Goud caste which has almost 30 percent of total population in the village.
