This village is such a great village, which has given birth to Annamayya who is a great poet and great devote for Lord Venkateswara> He belongs to 500 A.D and on the behalf of him a college has established known as Annamachrya Institute of Technology and Sciences. In this village Lord Shiva temple is there that is from the time of Annamayyas father. This village is sorrounded by river Penna. At a distance of 16 km from this village, a dam is present that is across the river of Penna. The students of Annamacharya College of Pharmacy which is a part of Annamacharya Institute of Technolgy and Sciences are doing social work in this village like giving free treatment and helping poor people financially.
