Amarapuram is the tehsil/mandal/taluka in the district of Anantapur of Andhra Pradesh in India.
Amarapuram has a very big lake and is supposed to be one of the biggest lake in Anantapur District. It is known for Beetal nut and pan gardnes. In earlier days Jain popultion was more here and we can observe ruins of old jain basti near lake. Every year car festival of Sri Lord Venkateswara swamy is held in the month of February. Many people talk Kannada here because it is in Andhra-karnataka border.
