Sirpur (T) is the taluqa head quarter of Sirpur taluqa. Sirpur is a ancient village situated on the banks of river Pranahita (Nagpur River). Population is 20,000 approximately. Venkateshwara Temple, Jama Masjid, Burj (Small Fort) are the places of historical significance in the village. Agriculture is the main occupation.
Its a small town whose history connects its to CHOLAS, MUGHALS AND NIZAMS. Munsif magistrate court, Mandal Revenue office, Inspection Banglow, Zilla parishad High School, Taalab (Pound) were constructed by Nizams. Much of the population depends upon agriculture and govt services. Its the border town of A.P and Maharashtra.
