Rohitashva is the son of King Harishchandra. City Rohita-puram is built by the name of King Rohitashva for the purpose of his administration. Having ruled the kingdom well keeping the interests of people in view, this Rohitashva has become a kingly-saint left off that city to Brahmanas, as he realised that the world is pithless. Rohitashva was descended by his son King Harit (Haritashva).
