King Dileepa I descended from his father King title="King Anshuman"> Anshuman. King Dileepa also like his father did penance in an attempt to bring the holy river Ganges to earth. This Dilipa went to heaven after his mortal period on earth, but he again obtained mortal life for two hours. Within those two hours he acquired sagacity about the nature of three worlds and about the nature of Brahman, thus Dilipa became legendary. King Dileepa was descended by Bhagiratha.
