King Sagara's surviving son Asmanja was not made king due to his bad conduct. His grandson Anshuman was made King. He did penance in an attempt to bring the holy river Ganges to earth, that she might wash away the sins of his ancestors. King Anshuman was descended by the King Dileepa I.
